The food, coincidentally, is rotten as well. And then you look at Lisa more closely, she does look rather pale, almost... dead.
The coin finally drops - you are in the house of vampires. You remember having read about houses without door having been used as burial grounds. You ask Lisa what the meaning of this all is and she comes clean:
Yes, she and her family are vampires, but she was also sincere with trying to help you, since the wilderness really is dangerous - even more dangerous than being here. However, soon her parents will arrive and you will need a place to hide.
